The Prelude

Music for weddings starts with a 15 to 30 minutes Prelude before the Ceremony starts and while guests are being seated. The Prelude is usually instrumental. Recommended repertoire includes French classical music or smooth Jazz. Specific music selection is left to Julien Xuereb but a general direction is encouraged.

Ceremony

The Ceremony is entirely customizable. The couple can choose the music from a pre-established list (see below) or request their favorite piece. The processional should be slow and solemn while the recessional can be more cheerful. Additional pieces can be requested for the bridal party or for an interlude. Depending on the layout of the venue, it might be appropriate to have the wedding planner give a cue to the musician to ensure good timing.

Here is a list of highly requested pieces for the ceremony:

Processional

Canon in D - Johann Pachelbel

Ave Maria - Franz Schubert

Wedding March - Felix Mendelssohn

Here Comes The Bride - Richard Wagner

Can’t Help Falling in Love - Elvis Presley

What a Wonderful World - Louis Armstrong

Recessional

Trumpet Voluntary - Henry Purcell

Here Comes The Sun - The Beatles

You Are The Best Thing - Ray LaMontagne

Mary You - Bruno Mars

Sevillana - Joaquín Turina

Any special requests must be communicated at least 30 days in advance.

Cocktail Hour

The Cocktail Hour has a more upbeat vibe. The repertoire can include Latin and Spanish Guitar, Jazz, Pop Music, and Acoustic Covers. Specific music selection is left to Julien Xuereb but a general direction is encouraged.

Dinner

The repertoire is similar to the one for Cocktail Hour with more emphasis on Acoustic Covers. Specific music selection is left to Julien Xuereb but a general direction is encouraged. The first dance is customizable.
